I am a self-taught first generation Portuguese-American artist Born and raised in good ol' Drity Jersey. I have always been an artist since I could remember. From sculpture to digital art, music to canvas art, I have never limited myself to any specific medium for my creative release. I thoroughly enjoy pushing the boundaries and trying new methods, styles, and mediums to create my art.
but my mom says I was born in Livingston, New Jersey. I moved around a bit, but I currently reside in Roselle Park, New Jersey with my roommate and our cat, Pantheon (my roommate insists the cat is his but w.e.)
I've always found it interesting to know what makes other artists who they are, their influences, and what drives them to create the artwork they make, their styles, and all that jazz. As I mentioned, I have been creating art nearly my entire life, but it wasn't until the ripe age of 25 that I became serious about my work. I was stuck in a job where I was overworked and underappreciated and I was dying to make changes in my life. One of my best friends had asked if I would go to a festival with him and help him with stage design. My experience at Future of Artistic and Revolutionary Minds (F.A.R.M. Fest) had given me the inspiration I needed to take control of my journey on this planet and to pursue my dreams of becoming an artist. I have since quit that job (I still sell paint, just with a different company now, cuz these bills don't pay themselves, you know...) and am in a much happier place in my life. My advice to aspiring artists, or anyone in general, if you find yourself stuck between a rock and a hard place, MAKE THE CHANGES YOU NEED. It may be scary. It may be hard. But let me tell you- the grass is damn green on this side.
